American Heating and Air Conditioning Service is a family owned shop in Waterbury, running service calls across Waterbury, Watertown, Southbury, Naugatuck, Cheshire, Southington and the nearby towns. We have hired and trained technicians here since 1978, and we are always accepting applications.

You diagnose, repair, and maintain residential heating and cooling systems across the Greater Waterbury area. Furnaces and boilers from October through March, air conditioning and mini splits from May through September, water heaters year round.
You work out of a company vehicle, run your own calls, and talk with homeowners directly about what their system needs. Our reputation is built on service calls done right the first time, so this is the role customers judge us by.
This is a licensed role. We do not train into it from zero, and we will tell you that straight rather than waste your time. If you are starting out, look at our apprentice and helper roles instead, which are built for exactly that.
Honesty and drive, above everything else. We are a family owned shop, not a franchise, and everyone here knows everyone else, from the office to the trucks. Show us those two things and we will teach you the rest.

Yes. Service technician and installer roles require a valid Connecticut license, either S-2, S-10, B-2, D-2, or G-2. If you do not hold one yet, our apprentice and helper roles are the way in, and we help with licensing and certification for some positions.
Not for this role. We train apprentices and helpers, and several of our technicians started here that way. For the technician seat itself we need someone who can run a call on day one.
We hire full time, part time, seasonal, and apprentice positions depending on the role and the season. Tell us what you are looking for on the application and we will be straight with you about what we have.
Standard hours are 8 to 4. There is an on call rotation and it is optional, not required.
You will get an email back from us. We read every application, and we keep the ones we cannot place right away on file for when something opens.
